The Brighton Marathon was launched in 2010 by Grounded Events Ltd. and
in only its second year it attracted a field of 8,000 runners
The Marathon starts in the city around Preston Park and quickly climbs
to the highest point on the course in the first mile. The first 11 miles
are slightly undulating; heading out to the East and Rottingdean. Before
you you turn around and head back past the finish at around half way and
head on out West beyond Hove to Shoreham Docks.
6 April 14
this year the conditions were very windy with the winner turning in a
respectable time of 2:09:25, this year 47 runners finished
under the 3 hour mark.
10 April 11
In very warm conditions for the time of year the winner finished in a
time of 2:16:07, with only 41 runners finished under
the 3 hour mark.
